Krishna Schroth, born in Pequannock, New Jersey, is a fine artist, public artist, and emerging muralist. Recipient of the James Dickson Carr Scholarship, Schroth earned her B.F.A. at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of Art and Design in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Working in painting and drawing, Schroth’s work primarily takes a socio-political critique on cultural issues as well as historical and current events, as can be seen in Toxicity in a New America || (2019), which received the Visual Arts Award in the Mason Gross Galleries’ Visions For the Future, and in her B.F.A. thesis, American Dream (2020), an ongoing mural that critiques historical patterns of prejudice, xenophobia, and capitalism, while also celebrating unity and insurgence.

A collaborative artist for the public art project initiative, Windows of Understanding, Schroth’s partnership with the Rutgers Student Food Pantry and Healthier Middlesex debuted her first public art pieces, Nurturing Knights (2020) and Home is Where the Heart is (2021), both displayed on store-fonts and windows of New Brunswick.

Schroth is now currently based in her hometown of Pompton Plains, NJ where she continues to work.
